Therapy tools

The other day I got this cool new therapy tool. Its called a bio feedback unit. You attach electrodes to the skin over a muscle and the unit can measure the nerve impulses that go to that muscle. Healthy muscles and nerves have around 40-50 micro volts (µV). When I first got it I had to struggle about 3-4µVs in my bicept. Now (about 2 weeks later) I am up to 8-10µVs easily. You can actually see the muscle contracting!!!

In addition to that my shoulder muscles, particularly the anterior deltoid, are getting stronger. The sub-luxation is starting to go away. I can't tell for sure but my whole right side seems to be getting stronger and the muscles seem st be developing just a little. On the other hand maybe I'm just getting used to all the atrophy. However, I think that I'll choose to believe that the muscles are developing.

Regardless the effects of the surgery are very apparent in the bicep. Pre-surgery there was zero nerve impulse to the bicep.

First Client Visit

Thursday and Friday have been my first client visit that I have done for Jive. Wednesday around 12:30 I was sitting comfortably up in 5th floor Loyalty enjoying the beautiful view I have of Mt Hood. The my direct line rings, after answering I hear, "So Dave is going to ask you to go down to help out G******** with their clearspace implementation"

So I rushed around to finish up work for the day and pack. It was either fly out of PDX at 8:30 Wednesday night or 5:10am the next morning. I chose Wednesday night. The flight was rather full except for my row. I had it all to myself. I stretched out and used the other seats and tables.

Thursday I spent most of the day getting up and familiarly with the environment and installing some dev tools I needed on my personal laptop. Friday I was able to make some great progress. Page load times went from 8+ seconds to around 3 seconds.

I left Friday at 3:30 to get my 5:00 flight back to Portland. Like almost every flight I have ever taken out of SFO it was delayed :(

The best part of the trip was Thursday night when I got to have dinner with Gaby and catch up. 16th and Mission is a little sketchy but a good time all in all.
