Arm Update

So I realize that its been a while since I posted an update about my skiing injury. The last post about it was about a year ago. I'm pretty sure that the lack of self obsessive injury posts is a good thing. I've certainly moved on with my life not letting my limited arm use hold me back too much. The last year I've done ton's and ton's of international traveling, snow showing, started to cycle again, ran, and ran, and ran a lot. However I've been getting bunch of questions about how my prolonged recovery is going. So here's the update.

Shoulder:

My deltoid is still very, very weak. I can lift my arm up about 50 degrees straight in front of me. That is huge improvement from a year ago and is more than enough to reach out and grab the handlebars on my bike but there still is a long ways to go.

Elbow

My Elbow is doing the best. I can fully contract my bicep and lift 10 pounds! I can also extend my elbow fully against gravity with my triceps. I can almost do push-ups.

Hand and Wrist

My and wrist have not improved as drastically as the rest of my arm. They are further from the site of the injury and so it takes a lot longer for them to recover. That being said I am seeing some improvement with both finger extension and wrist extension. I can now straighten my fingers in natural and cock my wrist back just a little bit. From the beginning I've been able to flex my wrist and grasp with my fingers which I am still able to do.

Summary

All said and done things are going! My arm is continuing to improve and For that I'm very thankful.
