Road Racing with Portland Velo

I've joined the Portland Velo Race Team!

This year I've decided to focus primarily on triathlon but I'm also going to be doing a bunch of road racing. To get me started I'm going to have my first road race on Febuary 15, the Cherry Pie Road Race. I'm registered as a cat 5 which is the lowest category. I have to earn points to get a "cat up" to cat 4. There are a bunch of Portland Velo Cat 5's who will be racing with me. It should be fun and I'm excited about it.

The following weekend is the first time trial of the year. I'm planning on racing that one too. Time Trial Racing means that I'll need to swap the bars on my Kuota K-Factor back to areo bars. I haven't ridden with areo bars off of a trainer since the skiing accident except for one failed attempt. I'll have to do some practicing.

Switching the Kuota back to areo configuration means I'll need to find or buy another bike that will be for group rides and road races. If anyone knows of a used Cervelo RS or R3 that is fore sale please let me know or if you have a great deal on some other bike.

I've really started to ramp up my training. Saturday I road 56 miles with the Portland Velo Race Team, Ran on Sunday and Monday. Today is swimming and weights.
