Jan 28, 2010: Catching up

Well it's been a long time since my latest post.  Between the holidays, training and work I just haven't had much time or motivation to blog.  However I've got a lot of things to talk about in the upcoming weeks.  So I'll catch you up on the last 3 months.  I'll have a bunch more posts over the next days and weeks.

Arm Rehab:
The nerve damage in my shoulder continues to (slowly) improve.  I'm doing more work with my right arm, including learning to swim with both arms.  Recovery seems to have really slowed down.  I'm taking a break from acupuncture for a while to see how that effects my pain levels and the strength I have.  Reducing the amount of appointments I have each week is really nice.  Life is pretty busy and to spend 3 hours each week at acupuncture is a lot.

Work:
Jive is really doing well and that makes me very busy.  I've been putting in time on the weekends and some later evenings.  For the next few weeks I'm going to be onsite at Apollo Group in Phoenix.  Living in a hotel isn't all that great, but it's going to be nice weather and I'll be able to see my brother who's getting his doctorate at Arizona State

Triathlon Training:
My training is progressing nicely.  I spent a lot of time this winter working on my running.  I'm a whole lot more efficient now and much less injury prone.  I've got stronger legs and quicker feet than I've ever had.  Also I don't do any of that bad heel striking any more.  To make my bike training more productive I've ordered a power meter.  It's yet another piece of cool tech that I can pair with my Garmin to make me faster this summer.  Finally, I'm starting to try and integrate my right arm into my swim stroke.  It's a frustrating experience that highlights my disability, but I'm making progress and hopefully that will make me faster as well.

That's all for now more posts coming soon!!
